I’ve been wearing the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 for over a week now, and I’m starting to think Xiaomi has finally cracked the code for the perfect everyday fitness band.

It’s not because it’s stuffed with flashy gimmicks, or because it’s trying to be a smartwatch replacement, no. It nails the basics, adds thoughtful extras, and wraps everything in a design you actually want to be seen wearing, all for the affordable price of only Php2,499.

Display that makes you look twice

The first thing you notice isn’t the band, it’s the screen.

The 1.72-inch AMOLED panel is big, bright, and ridiculously crisp for something this size. Its 212×520 resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate means text and animations look smooth, and the 2.5D curved glass adds just the right amount of polish.

I’ve been glancing at it under direct noon sunlight in Makati, and the 1,500-nit peak brightness (plus automatic brightness adjustment) means I never have to shade it with my hand. The bezels? Practically invisible. It looks more “premium wearable” than “budget fitness band.”

Stylish or sporty? You decide

Fitness trackers aren’t always fashion-friendly, but Xiaomi’s gone heavy on customization here. You get metal or ceramic frames, 200+ watch faces, and straps that range from casual TPU to a pearl-chain pendant that turns it into a necklace. There’s even a running clip so you can attach it to your shoe for more accurate tracking during runs.

At just 15.95g for the metal version (23.05g for ceramic), it’s light enough that I forgot I was wearing it … until the vibration reminded me to get up and stretch.

I love the metal frame on my Mystic Rose colored review unit. Not only does it contribute to its durability, it also looks great. However, there is one limitation: The strap has a clip that may not match the color of the frame.

For example, I have an orange nylon strap from the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 that I want to use. However, it has a silver clip. Not that obvious from afar, so I’m not too worried, but it might not pass more scrutinizing eyes.

Battery life you don’t have to baby

One of my pet peeves with wearables is having to charge them every few days.

How does the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 hold up? According to Xiaomi, you can get up to three weeks on a single charge in normal use, and around nine days with Always-On Display (AOD) enabled.

I use it with AOD turned on and all of the sensors set to the most agressive monitoring rate that I can get. With these settings, I lasted Monday to Sunday with about 20 percent battery left, so nine days sounds about right.

When it does need juice, it’s a quick one-hour top-up with the magnetic charger. No fiddly charging cradles, no weird clip attachments. Wireless charging is still the dream, but I’ll give it a pass.

More than just steps and calories

This isn’t just a “count your steps” kind of tracker. The Xiaomi Smart Band 10 comes with 150+ sports modes, including advanced swimming with 96% lap count accuracy, and a heart rate broadcast mode that lets you feed live data to compatible gym equipment or apps.

It does not have a built-in GPS yet. So far, that is a feture reserved only for smart watches. Also, not everyone uses it, so we understand why smart bands don’t have them.

The sleep tracking is next-level: It now checks sleep efficiency and distribution, with guidance backed by the World Sleep Society and other health authorities. I have no way to validate the accuracy of its measurements, but the data seems real enough to me.

You still get the usual all-day monitoring for heart rate, blood oxygen (SpO2), stress, and even menstrual cycles.

As an added bonus for fans who have invested into the Xiaomi ecosystem, you can pair it with your smartphone or tablet running HyperOS 2. Doing so enhances the Smart Band 10, doubling as a mini control hub for your smart home.

Verdict: A fitness band that just “gets it”

After a week of living with it, the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 feels less like a gadget I have to manage and more like something that quietly makes my day easier.

It’s comfortable, stylish, and smart enough to keep up with my workouts without overcomplicating things.

For Php2,499, this is easily one of the best-value and most “thought of” wearables you can buy right now. If you’re into fitness tracking but don’t want to sacrifice style (or your wallet), you are going to want to give this a try.
