Zsa Zsa Padilla joins the fight against nerve damage with Neurobion

Neurobion® launches the Neuropathy Awareness Movement and invites consumers, including media and bloggers, to join them in raising awareness about the prevalence of Neuropathy (nerve damage), its condition and the need for early intervention.

A recent study reveals that 1 out of 3 people may suffer from Neuropathy or nerve damage with progressing age.

A regular person can type 40 words per minute. On a normal day, a person takes 6,200 steps. With every touch, a person can ignite four million sensory receptors. These seemingly common daily activities will not be easy to perform without healthy nerves.

In this day and age, consumer lifestyles have never been more active, and nerves have never been more tested. Throughout the entire day, there’s just simply more to do and busy lifestyles can take a toll on the nerves if people don’t properly nourish them like the rest of their body.

The Threat of Nerve Damage

Numbness, tingling and burning sensations, mostly felt in the hands and feet, are common signs of nerve damage or a condition called Neuropathy. Contrary to the common belief that only old and mature people experience nerve damage, younger people can also experience and be prone to this condition.

Neuropathy can affect people who have an unbalanced diet and unhealthy lifestyle which includes smoking and high alcohol intake, those who have suffered injuries or have diabetes.

“Because the symptoms of Neuropathy are too common, people tend to brush them off completely or associate them with a different condition. However, what we don’t know is that a lot of people are already suffering from Neuropathy and their heath cases remain unreported or undiagnosed. This is what we want to change because we want people to prioritize the health of their nerves the same way that they take care of their other organs,” explains Merck Inc., Philippines Medical Director Dr. Gio Barangan.

Fighting Neuropathy

People can prevent nerve damage as early as they can by maintaining a balanced diet, following an active lifestyle and taking B-Vitamin Complex daily. The roles of vitamins B1, B6 and B12 are important in the health of the nervous system.

Vitamin B1 acts as cofactor for the metabolism of carbohydrates, helping turn starch and sugar into the energy our bodies need, and plays an important role in nerve transmission while Vitamin B6 helps in the production of neurotransmitters, the chemicals that allow brain and nerve cells to communicate with one another. Lastly, Vitamin B12 aids in the production of DNA and RNA, and the production of neurotransmitters.

The World’s #1 B Vitamins*, Neurobion®, recognizes the importance for nerve care. Trusted by doctors for over 40 years, Neurobion® has a balanced formulation of Vitamins B1, B6 and B12 and is clinically proven to nourish the nerves and acts at the root of the problem.

“Neuropathy is a serious condition that needs to be addressed. Taking B Vitamins is a preventive measure which is why we encourage consumers to incorporate it in their daily health regimen. You shouldn’t let nerve damage slow you down or keep you from doing things that you normally do,” says Neurobion® Brand Manager Eloisa Dy Buncio

Neuropathy Awareness Movement

Neurobion® proudly takes on the advocacy of raising awareness on Neuropathy and the role of B Vitamins in overall nerve health. To reach out to a younger market and more people, the brand engaged ambassadors for raising awareness. This includes director and producer Paul Soriano and TV actress, singer and celebrity mom Zsa Zsa Padilla.

“During shoots, days can turn into nights. There are a lot of things going on and I don’t always realize how much stress my nerves go through—from texting the crew to reviewing scripts on tablets to helping carrying props and even walking from set to set. I feel numbness and some pain in my hands and feet at times but I don’t pay attention because it comes and goes. It’s good to be aware of how this can get serious. We shouldn’t neglect our health, even our nerves, which is why I take Neurobion® daily,” shares Soriano.

“As a mom, I am not only focused on my family’s health but also on my own because I want to spend more time with my loved ones. At the same time, I do have work that I need to attend to so I need to manage my time between these two priorities. I don’t want to look back and regret not taking care of my health and my nerves. With my busy schedule, I know I can’t allow myself to slow down so including Neurobion® in my daily habit is the first step towards my health goal,” add Padilla.

Neurobion’s® mission does not stop at providing preventive measure for Neuropathy, but also extends to creating awareness and spreading information on teaching consumers how to detect early symptoms of the condition and how to live a healthy and active lifestyle.
