The 24-year-old Kapuso actor Alden Richards did not deny though that he and Maine have grown closer since they spent quality time together in Boracay.
“We’re still getting to know each other,” he said when asked about the real score between him and Maine Mendoza.
He even posted a souvenir photo with Maine that reads, “Worth it…”
While he’s aware that he and Maine are very much in the public eye, Alden admitted that his effort to make Maine feel special is real.
“I am very happy kapag kasama ko siya on and off cam.
“Yun po yung maganda ngayon kasi nabibigyan kami ng chance to bond without cameras, without anyone following us.
“Minsan lang nagkakaroon ng mga paparazzi shot kung nasaan kami,” said Alden.
Then he happily added, “Pero kung ano man yung ginagawa ko for Maine, I am happy and I am doing that out of free will.
“Hindi po pilit, walang nagpa-plant, walang nagsabi.”
Reporters were able to interview Alden at the press launch for his Neozep Forte endorsement.
Alden and Maine’s phenomenal loveteam began in Eat Bulaga!‘s ‘Kalyeserye’ segment July last year.
Since then, avid fans are hoping that their powerful onscreen chemistry would translate to a real-life relationship.
Both Maine and Alden are single at the moment.
Their respective families have also expressed approval should they develop feelings for each other.
So what’s keeping them from entering a relationship?
Alden answered, “Mahirap po kasing magpadalus-dalos sa mga desisyon, to get into a commitment.
“And then, kumbaga, siya rin naman po, she’s just enjoying, bago lang siya, neophyte sa show business…
“So, up to this point po, we’re still having fun.
“But still getting to know each other because it’s been, what, eight months pa lang.”
One thing is clear though, Alden admitted how much Maine means to him right now.
He said, “Isa po siya sa pinakaespesyal na babae sa buhay ko.
“She’s very special.
“I’m very happy whenever I am with her, sabi ko nga, on and off cam. So, yun po.”
