'My Bebe Love' vs 'Beauty and the Bestie' in 2015 MMFF Box Office
Box office veterans will battle out each other in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.
Vice Ganda's entry "Beauty and the bestie" is expected to beat its previous records in three consecutive years after his films "Sisterakas", Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy and the Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin 2 ranked #1 in the MMFF box office.
Vice Ganda and Coco Martin teamed up for the film co-produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films.
The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin,” currently holds the title of being the highest-grossing MMFF entry of all time while Coco’s 2014 entry “Feng Shui 2” with Kris Aquino made history having highest opening gross for a Filipino horror film.
Box-office director Wenn V. Deramas directed “Beauty and The Bestie”. Also included in the cast is one of the hottest loveteam "Jadine" of James Reid and Nadine Lustre.
Meanwhile, box office stars Vic Sotto and Aiai Delas Alas will give Vice Ganda a good fight as they co-starred with the phenomenal loveteam "AlDub", the popular duo of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza in the film "My Bebe Love."
"My Bebe Love" director Jose Javier Reyes took to Twitter on opening day of MMFF to thank the fans of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza for their support for the film, as it hit at least P1 million in ticket sales on its first hour.
In a series of tweets, Reyes said he received "some very good news about the box-office results" of the film.
"According to Boss Orly, million mark hit on first hour with incomplete results," he tweeted.
The film, an entry to the MMFF, is also a first for Mendoza, who rose to fame this year as the "Dubsmash queen" and "Kalyeserye sweetheart" of GMA-7's noontime show Eat Bulaga.
