In 2019, Samsung redefined mobile technology with the launch of the Galaxy Fold. The first-of-its-kind Infinity Flex Display promised an extraordinary smartphone experience. Then Galaxy Z Flip succeeded with its stylish and eye-catching build that tucks into a palm-sized device. Samsung continued to push boundaries with the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G, further refining the first iteration’s design and innovations.

1. Flexible display technology

In 2020, Samsung took the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G to greater heights with innovations. One of which is its Hideaway Hinge that makes folding and unfolding even smoother. When folded, it has a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O Display and a bigger 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display when unfolded, made from Samsung Ultra Thin Glass. This is enhanced by the minuscule camera hole and slimmer bezels for minimized distractions.

The Galaxy Z Flip also features the Infinity Flex Display, complemented by Samsung’s bendable Ultra Thin Glass. The Free-stop Angles Hideaway Hinge opens the smartphone with an elegant motion, unfolding the Dynamic AMOLED Infinity Flex Display. Through its ultramodern fold experience, the Galaxy Z Flip can be enjoyed from a variety of angles.

2. Run multiple active windows at the same time

The Galaxy Fold changed how we view productivity through Multi-Active Window, a feature that sets apart the Galaxy smartphone from any other devices. The feature allows users to open up to 3 windows and browse social media, read emails, and shoot and edit content simultaneously.

The Galaxy Z Fold2 5G further improved its predecessor with Flex Mode with optimized UI, which splits the display in two, showing content on one half and controls on the other. Multi-Active Window has also been upgraded and can now open multiple files from one app at the same time. It’s now easier to drag and drop text, images, and documents from one app to another.

3. HyperFast 5G technology

The Galaxy Z Fold2 5G is also powered by 5G so it can tap into HyperFast internet speeds for the ever-changing world.

The Galaxy Z Flip’s versatility is the perfect match for an on-the-go lifestyle. The smartphone is also equipped with Flex Mode and can be used like a laptop, while Multi-Active Window can display two apps at the same time. It can also be used hands-free when shooting content and going on video calls. When closed, notifications are shown on the cover display so texts, calls, and reminders are never missed. App Continuity transitions to the app when the Galaxy Z Flip is unfolded.

Samsung both defined and defied a category with the launch of its foldable devices. The world got to see the future unfold with the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G and Z Flip.
