MANILA, Philippines (September 2026) – Two high school best friends are about to embark on a magical journey through Pinoy folklore, and fast-food favorite Jollibee is bringing the adventure to the big screen through a global partnership with DreamWorks Animation for the upcoming feature “Forgotten Island.”

The animated film hits theaters worldwide on Sept. 23, 2026, combining international animation with Filipino storytellers and performers.

A story rooted in friendship and folklore

Written and directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, “Forgotten Island” follows lifelong best friends Jo and Raissa. On their last night together before going their separate ways after high school, the duo stumbles upon a portal to Nakali, a fantastical island filled with legendary creatures from Pinoy family tales.

The ultimate test comes when they discover the cost of returning home: losing every memory of their friendship. To get back without forgetting each other, Jo and Raissa must navigate the island and face off against The Dreaded Manananggal.

Star-studded Pinoy cast and P-pop soundtrack

The voice cast features prominent Filipino and Filipino-American talent. Grammy and Academy Award winner H.E.R. and actress Liza Soberano star as Jo and Raissa, while Tony Award winner Lea Salonga voices The Dreaded Manananggal. The cast also includes comedian Jo Koy, Dave Franco as the weredog Raww, Manny Jacinto, Dolly de Leon, Jenny Slate, and Ronny Chieng.

P-pop favorite BINI contributes to the movie’s official soundtrack with their track “A Parallel World.” The upbeat electronic-pop song features both English and Pinoy lyrics. The group performed the track at San Diego Comic-Con, and the accompanying music video shows the members enjoying Jollibee meals while recording in the United States.

More surprises coming for fans

Jollibee Group Global Chief Marketing Officer David Beal highlighted that great stories and great food both bring families and friends together. Dorothy Ching, Vice President for Marketing at Jollibee Philippines, added that the partnership brings universal themes of family and togetherness to audiences around the globe.

Moviegoers and fans can look forward to special Jollibee promos tied to the release, with details scheduled to be announced closer to the premiere date. “Forgotten Island” arrives in theaters on Sept. 23, 2026.
