MANILA, Philippines (Dec 2024) – Filipino families seeking cinema-quality entertainment at home now have a new option as TCL Philippines launches its C7K QD-MiniLED television, promising to eliminate common display issues that have plagued premium TVs.
The latest offering from the global electronics manufacturer addresses the notorious “halo effect” that creates unwanted glowing around bright objects on screen, a problem that has frustrated viewers of high-end televisions for years.
“Finally, the time has come to meet the newest TCL QD-MiniLED TV featuring cutting-edge technology and advanced features you’ve always wanted. Now, you get to experience the Big Screen energy inside your homes,” said Joseph Cernitchez, Brand Manager at TCL Philippines.
The C7K model uses what TCL calls Micro-OD technology, cramming up to 2,880 dimming zones into a slimmer profile than previous models. This system can reach 3,000 nits of brightness while maintaining precise control over dark areas, according to specifications from a press release obtained by our editors.
TCL has partnered with Danish audio company Bang & Olufsen to handle sound processing. The century-old audio specialist’s engineers tuned the TV’s built-in speakers to deliver what the company describes as “three-dimensional sound experience.”
Gaming features include 288Hz variable refresh rate support and custom screen ratios of 21:9 and 32:9 for wider field-of-view gaming. A dedicated game bar allows players to adjust settings for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles.
The television runs on TCL’s smart TV platform with streaming capabilities, though specific app availability for Philippine users was not detailed in the announcement.
Pricing and exact availability dates remain unannounced. The C7K joins TCL’s premium lineup as the company competes with Samsung, LG, and Sony in the Philippine high-end TV market.
