MANILA, Philippines (July 9, 2025) – Samsung Electronics Co. has launched its newest lineup of Galaxy devices, introducing the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, and the Galaxy Watch8 series. This might be the biggest upgrade yet across foldables and wearables, featuring thinner form factors, brighter displays, upgraded cameras and deeply integrated AI tools.
Galaxy Z Fold7: Samsung’s Most Advanced Foldable Yet
The Galaxy Z Fold7 features a sleeker and lighter profile, measuring just 4.2 millimeters when unfolded and 8.9 mm when folded. Weighing only 215 grams, it now includes a wider 6.5-inch cover display with a 21:9 aspect ratio for a more familiar smartphone feel.
Samsung improved durability with an Armor FlexHinge designed to reduce visible creases, a cover screen made with Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, and a frame crafted from Advanced Armor Aluminum. The main display includes a titanium plate and a thicker ultra-thin glass layer for added strength.
When unfolded, the Fold7 reveals an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. Both screens support Vision Booster and offer peak brightness of up to 2,600 nits.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, the device promises a 41 percent improvement in AI processing and significant gains in CPU and GPU performance. It supports on-device features such as real-time translation and AI-assisted photo editing.
The camera system includes Samsung’s first 200-megapixel main sensor in a foldable, alongside a 12MP ultra-wide, 10MP telephoto with 3x zoom, and dual 10MP front and cover cameras. AI capabilities enhance Night Video, HDR imaging, and object removal tools such as Generative Edit.
Additional AI tools include Circle to Search, Gemini Live, and AI Results View. Security features such as Samsung Knox, encrypted app storage and post-quantum cryptography help ensure data protection.
Galaxy Z Flip7: Compact Form Meets Powerful AI
The Galaxy Z Flip7, Samsung’s slimmest flip phone yet at 13.7 mm folded and 188 grams, introduces a nearly bezel-less 4.1-inch FlexWindow. This Super AMOLED panel offers up to 2,600 nits brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate. The main screen is a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display.
The device carries a larger 4,300mAh battery with up to 31 hours of video playback and is powered by a 3-nanometer processor. It’s the first Flip device to support Samsung DeX, transforming the phone into a productivity station.
Running Android 16 and One UI 8, the FlexWindow integrates Gemini Live, the Now Bar and Now Brief. These AI-driven features enable real-time voice assistance, personalized updates and camera-based search.
On the back, a 50MP wide and 12MP ultra-wide camera system delivers flagship-level photos and videos, while FlexWindow supports enhanced selfie tools like Dual Preview, Zoom Slider and Real-Time Filters.
Samsung is also introducing the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, a more accessible model with a 6.7-inch main screen and a 50MP FlexCam. It features a smaller cover display similar to the previous generation and is available in black and white, with white as an online exclusive.
Galaxy Watch8 Series: Health and AI in Sync
The Galaxy Watch8 series includes the Galaxy Watch8, Watch8 Classic and the new Galaxy Watch Ultra. With a redesigned internal structure and Dynamic Lug system, the series delivers what Samsung calls its most comfortable and accurate health-tracking experience.
The watches feature displays that reach up to 3,000 nits brightness and are powered by a 3nm processor. Dual-frequency GPS and improved battery life support better outdoor performance.
The new BioActive Sensor delivers advanced health metrics including personalized sleep coaching, sleep apnea detection and the debut of an Antioxidant Index that measures carotenoid levels in five seconds.
Additional tools include Bedtime Guidance, Vascular Load for sleep stress tracking, and the AI-powered Energy Score, which gauges daily physical and mental energy. A new Running Coach, High Stress Alert and Mindfulness Tracker support fitness and wellness goals.
The Watch8 series is the first wearable to launch with Gemini, Google’s AI assistant, and runs on Wear OS 6. One UI 8 Watch introduces multi-info tiles for quick access to health data, weather and calendar alerts.
