BUSAN, South Korea (Apr 2026): If you’ve ever tried to squeeze a washer and dryer into a cramped Manila condo, you know the struggle. A new compact laundry solution from LG might just be the answer.
The electronics giant unveiled its region-specific home innovations at LG InnoFest 2026 APAC, showcasing products designed around how Asian families actually live. From space-saving laundry towers to AI-powered kitchen tech, the lineup tackles everyday pain points Pinoy households recognize.
Compact laundry that works for tight spaces
LG’s new 25-inch WashTower model targets Asian homes where every square foot counts. It joins existing 24-inch and 27-inch versions, giving consumers more flexibility based on their floor plan. The stacked design handles both washing and drying without eating up valuable floor space.
New top-load washers bring AI Direct Drive technology that adjusts wash motions depending on fabric type and how dirty the load is. TurboWash 3D can finish a full cycle in under 30 minutes, while an automatic dispenser measures detergent for each load so you’re not constantly refilling.
For drying, the LG WashCombo offers an all-in-one heat pump solution that cuts energy use, a key consideration for households watching electricity bills. Standalone dryer options are also expanding across efficiency tiers.
Commercial-grade laundry solutions are in the mix too, built for high-frequency use with customizable programs and service-friendly designs. A new commercial washer-dryer HeatPump Combo integrates both functions in one unit, with global rollout planned after strong demand in Korea.
Kitchen tech built for Asian cooking habits
Refrigerator designs now feature a Zero Clearance Hinge that lets units sit flush against walls without wasting space, while maximizing storage in compact kitchens. An advanced ice system offers four options: Craft Ice, Crushed, Cubed and Mini Craft, matching the high ice consumption common in the region.
Dishwashers get a one-hour wash-and-dry cycle. QuadWash Pro uses four spray arms with high-pressure jets and microbubbles to clean from multiple angles. Dynamic Heat Dry+ uses moisture-absorbing material to remove humidity and produce warm, dry air efficiently. Key models hit A-grade energy efficiency across both premium and volume segments.
For Southeast Asian markets, LG introduced a tailored built-in kitchen collection with ovens, cooktops and hoods for both business and consumer buyers. A standout is the Camera Oven, which uses an internal camera to identify ingredients and recommend optimal cooking settings while monitoring surface color to check doneness.
AI home vision rolling out across Asia
LG brought its AI Home concept to life at the event, showing how intelligent technologies can simplify daily routines. Powered by the AI Home Hub ThinQ ON, LG’s AI-enabled appliances and IoT devices connect and coordinate for integrated home experiences. ThinQ ON has launched in its initial market and will roll out across Asia starting with Australia and Thailand.
The company is also expanding LG Subscribe, a flexible appliance subscription service, in key urban Asian markets including Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore and Vietnam. The model offers access to appliances plus comprehensive product care.
Jaeseung Kim, LG Electronics Asia Pacific’s regional CEO, said the event strengthens connections with partners and advances the company’s vision for AI-powered home solutions that reflect local lifestyles.
Philippine pricing, availability dates and which specific models will launch locally were not disclosed at the event. Updates will be shared as details are confirmed.
