MANILA, Philippines (May 2026) — Picking the right microSD card has always been a guessing game, but Samsung wants to make that a lot easier.
The Korean tech giant has launched two new microSD cards in the Philippines: the T7 and T9. The release also marks a broader rebrand of Samsung’s removable storage lineup, retiring the old EVO Plus, PRO Plus, and PRO Ultimate naming in favor of a cleaner, more intuitive system.
The letter codes are deliberate. The “T” series stands for Trustworthiness, while a separate “P” series (like the P9 Express) carries the Peace of Mind designation. The idea is to make it faster for shoppers to identify which card fits their needs without digging through spec sheets.
The T7: for everyday users
The T7 is the entry point, aimed at casual users, light gamers, and anyone who just keeps running out of space on their phone or tablet. It tops out at read speeds of up to 170MB/s and is available in capacities up to 1TB, which is plenty for most people.
It works across smartphones, laptops, tablets, and handheld gaming consoles.
Pricing for the T7 starts at PHP 3,143 (approx. $54) for 128GB, PHP 5,010 (approx. $86) for 256GB, PHP 9,920 (approx. $170) for 512GB, and PHP 19,841 (approx. $340) for the 1TB model.
The T9: for creators and serious gamers
The T9 steps things up for drone operators, action cam shooters, and anyone juggling large files regularly. It pushes read speeds up to 200MB/s and write speeds up to 130MB/s, and comes with 6-proof protection for durability in demanding conditions.
The T9 is available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB configurations. Pricing starts at PHP 3,929 (approx. $67) for 128GB, PHP 6,188 (approx. $106) for 256GB, and PHP 12,475 (approx. $214) for 512GB.
Both cards carry a limited 3-year warranty and are rated U3, V30, A2, and Class 10.

The T7 and T9 microSD cards have been available since May 5, 2026, through Samsung’s official Shopee and Lazada stores. Buyers of the T9 also get a free exclusive blind box while stocks last.
