MANILA, Philippines (Jun 2026) — One of the most iconic SUVs on Philippine roads just got an electrified upgrade. Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has officially launched the Land Cruiser HEV, bringing hybrid technology to a nameplate with over 70 years of off-road legend behind it. Retail sales started June 24.
The new variant sits alongside the existing Land Cruiser 300, which runs a 3.3-liter V6 Twin Turbo diesel engine producing 306 PS. The HEV, however, makes the switch to gasoline, pairing a 3.5-liter Twin Turbo V6 engine producing 415 PS with an electric motor that adds another 49 PS to the mix. The result is a Land Cruiser that is both more powerful and more aligned with TMP’s push toward electrified mobility.
Electric power steering also comes standard on the HEV, making it noticeably lighter to drive compared to its diesel sibling. On the outside, subtle styling changes include an Aero kit with Jet-Black Garnish accents.
A legend that never left
The Land Cruiser has been part of Philippine automotive history since 1990, when the Land Cruiser 80 made its debut locally. It quickly built a devoted following, and enthusiast communities that formed around it decades ago are still active today. Land Cruisers from multiple generations remain a common sight on Philippine roads — proof of how deeply the nameplate has embedded itself into local car culture.
The current Land Cruiser 300, launched globally in 2021, continued that tradition as a full-sized SUV built to handle both city streets and serious off-road terrain. The HEV variant is TMP’s way of keeping the nameplate relevant for buyers who want proven performance alongside access to hybrid technology.

Color options and availability
The Land Cruiser HEV is available in four colors: Attitude Black Mica, Silver Metallic, Gray Metallic, and Precious White Pearl (premium).
