MANILA, Philippines (June 2026) — Pinoy smartphone buyers turned out in force for the Xiaomi 17T Series, helping the new lineup post a 134% year-over-year increase in first-day sales and continue the brand’s strong momentum in the country.

The latest milestone marks Xiaomi’s third straight generation of triple-digit or near triple-digit first-day sales growth for its T Series. According to the company, the Xiaomi 14T Series recorded 78% year-over-year growth in 2024, followed by 135% for the Xiaomi 15T Series. The Xiaomi 17T Series continued that trend with another 134% increase.

Customers picked up their pre-orders at Xiaomi stores across the Philippines, while launch celebrations at SM Megamall, SM North EDSA and SM Mall of Asia drew fans eager to get their hands on the new devices. Celebrity ambassadors Gabbi Garcia, Mika Salamanca, Bianca de Vera and Dustin Yu also joined the festivities.

Photography remains the biggest draw

A major selling point of the Xiaomi 17T Series is its upgraded camera system, developed in partnership with Leica.

Leading the lineup is the Xiaomi 17T Pro, which introduces a periscope telephoto camera to the T Series. The setup offers up to 5x optical zoom, 10x optical-grade lossless zoom and AI-powered zoom of up to 120x for capturing distant subjects.

Both the Xiaomi 17T Pro and Xiaomi 17T also feature Leica Summilux optics, along with the Live Moments shooting mode designed to capture clearer action shots.

Built for work and play

Beyond photography, the new smartphones also bring upgraded performance through MediaTek’s latest processors.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, while the Xiaomi 17T is powered by the Dimensity 8500. Xiaomi says the processors deliver faster performance for photography, gaming and everyday multitasking.

Tomi Adrias, head of marketing at Xiaomi Philippines, said the strong sales reflect growing demand among local consumers for premium mobile photography features without flagship-level prices.

He said the company’s continued collaboration with Leica and its focus on meaningful innovation have resonated with Pinoy buyers, adding that Xiaomi is grateful for the support it has received across three generations of the T Series.

The Xiaomi 17T Series is now available through the Xiaomi Philippines online store, official Shopee and Lazada stores, and authorized Xiaomi retail outlets nationwide.
