MANILA, Philippines (June 2026) — Businesses are collecting more data than ever, but keeping it secure, organized, and useful has become just as important as storing it. That’s the problem Synology hopes to solve with a new wave of AI-powered products and software unveiled at COMPUTEX 2026 in Taiwan.
The company introduced the next generation of DiskStation Manager (DSM), along with updates across its data protection, surveillance, collaboration, and personal cloud ecosystem. The announcements focus on helping organizations manage growing volumes of information while keeping sensitive data under their own control.
Philip Wong, chairman and CEO of Synology, said the company’s latest products are built around data ownership and security.
“Data is at the heart of everything we build, and trust is the foundation. From enterprise infrastructure to personal cloud solutions, we develop every product to give users complete control over their data, backed by uncompromising security, reliability and privacy, so they can always embrace what’s next with confidence,” Wong said.
AI comes to DiskStation Manager
The upcoming version of DiskStation Manager is designed for organizations preparing AI workloads. It adds support for GPU-equipped NAS systems and dedicated AI appliances, allowing businesses to run AI inference entirely on-premises instead of relying on cloud services.
For larger deployments, Synology also introduced Cluster Manager, which lets IT administrators manage multiple storage systems through a single interface. The platform supports workload migration, quality of service management, and centralized data protection.
Administrators can also roll out devices faster using the new Mass Deployment feature in Active Insight, while an updated Log Center provides deeper visibility into system activity for security and compliance monitoring.
Expanded backup protection
Synology also expanded its ActiveProtect platform with ActiveProtect Manager 2.0.
The updated platform now supports backups for Amazon EC2, Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines, Proxmox, Nutanix AHV, and Google Workspace, allowing organizations to manage backups for physical, virtual, cloud, and SaaS environments from a single console.
AI-powered anomaly and malware detection has also been added to help identify potential threats earlier.
The company also introduced the DP5200, a new backup appliance that expands deployment options for enterprise customers.
Smarter surveillance and workplace tools
Security received several upgrades as well.
Synology announced new access control hardware that includes the AC100 door controller, AR Series card readers, DC Series dome cameras, and updated Deep Video Analytics appliances.
The latest analytics features use AI to help security teams search recorded footage more quickly and follow a person’s movement across multiple cameras.
Meanwhile, Surveillance365 adds cloud-based video surveillance services that work alongside on-premises Surveillance Station deployments, making remote and multi-site monitoring easier.
More collaboration without leaving your network
Synology is also expanding its Office Suite with two new applications: ChatPlus and Meet.
The new communication tools include AI-powered transcription and translation while allowing organizations to keep business communications inside their own infrastructure instead of sending data to third-party cloud services.
The additions complement Synology’s existing productivity platform for businesses looking for an alternative to public cloud collaboration suites.
Private cloud gets new features
For home users, Synology expanded its BeeStation lineup with new storage options.
BeeStation Plus now supports BeeCamera for home monitoring using Synology cameras. The company also introduced Deep Search, an AI-powered search tool for Windows and macOS that helps users quickly find files stored in their private cloud while keeping personal data on local devices.
The products and features announced at COMPUTEX 2026 remain on Synology’s product roadmap. The company said availability and launch dates for individual products will be announced separately.
