Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — The Philippine dive delegation led by the Tourism Promotions Board closed out the Malaysia International Dive Expo with PHP 113,273,411 in sales leads after three days at MITEC in Kuala Lumpur.
The delegation brought 10 Philippine dive operators and showcased destinations including Palawan, Negros Oriental, Batangas, Cebu, and Mindoro. Visitors showed strong interest in specialized experiences such as pelagic and wreck diving.
“MIDE provides an excellent opportunity for the Philippines to promote its world-class dive destinations to the Malaysian market and beyond,” said Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles, TPB Chief Operating Officer.
Beyond the pavilion, TPB arranged 142 B2B meetings with Malaysian dive agents and highlighted improved airline access via Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, AirAsia, and Firefly.
The board also received the Longstanding Appreciation Award for 13 years of participation at MIDE.
