MANILA, Philippines — Building an online business from your bedroom just got a lot more official support.
Lazada Philippines has expanded its alliance with national institutions including the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Trade and Industry, and Go Negosyo. The expanded tie-up comes alongside the relaunch of LazGrow Together, a campaign designed to help aspiring Pinoy entrepreneurs navigate the online marketplace with structured onboarding and better tools.
Taking the digital leap with actual guidance
Starting an online shop is easy, but keeping it profitable is where many local sellers stumble. The revamped campaign focuses on giving micro, small, and medium enterprises a clearer roadmap.
To make things more practical, the platform has developed hands-on tools like an Excel-based seller calculator. This helps new entrepreneurs figure out pricing, margins, and profitability before they upload their first product listing. Since October 2025, the company has participated in over 10 digital upskilling events, linking up with more than 300 aspiring brands.
The growth potential is massive, especially when looking at the DOST network alone, which represents more than 7,000 MSMEs nationwide.
Building trust in a crowded digital space
For local brands, the biggest hurdle is often convincing buyers that their products are authentic. By encouraging sellers to operate within verified spaces like LazMall, the platform aims to help MSMEs build long-term consumer confidence.
“MSMEs drive the Philippine economy, and our responsibility is to ensure they are fully equipped to thrive in the digital arena,” said Carlos Barrera, CEO of Lazada Philippines. He added that the initiative is built to shape a more inclusive digital marketplace for local businesses.
