MANILA, Philippines (Jun 2026) — “Nurse the Dead” is not short on strange backstories, but its official theme takes the cake.
The supernatural comedy series dropped its official soundtrack, “The Denial Song,” performed by Jade Riccio. The track comes with an origin story that ties together a medical mission, the Panamanian jungle, and Hollywood actress Shelley Long.
A song written in the jungle
Series creator Mark Labella composed the song while on a medical mission in Panama. He only later learned the mission itself was personally sponsored by Shelley Long, the iconic Hollywood television star. “So in a strange and beautiful twist of fate, the theme song for ‘Nurse the Dead’ was written in the jungles of Panama during a medical mission made possible by one of Hollywood’s most iconic actresses,” he said.
The cast and where to watch
“Nurse the Dead” stars Jelynn Sophia Malone alongside Anthony Jennings, Princess Punzalan, Ruby Rodriguez, Gigette Reyes, and Tootsie Guevara. It premiered on iWant on June 12, with new episodes arriving every Friday.
