TAYTAY, Philippines (July 2026) — The Made in Taytay app is bringing Rizal’s famous tiangge bargains straight to your smartphone, saving shoppers from long commutes and crowded market aisles.

This new digital marketplace was developed through a partnership among PLDT Enterprise, Multisys Technologies Corporation and the local government of Taytay, Rizal, alongside the Department of Trade and Industry. The initiative aims to support local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by helping them expand their reach online.

Bargains at your fingertips

With the launch of the platform, garments and woodwork products from Taytay can now be purchased anytime from anywhere in the country. Local vendor Desserie Valdizno, who owns Rikishee RTW Store, said the app helps showcase what the town has to offer.

“The beauty of this app is that it is not just proudly Pinoy, but the items for sale are really Made in Taytay,” Valdizno said. She noted that customers can choose to pick up their purchases directly at the physical store in the Taytay Tiangge via the Logistics Hub, or contact and trace the seller online while shopping.

Helping local businesses grow

PLDT Enterprise has also supported the initiative by installing internet connectivity across the tiangge centers. This allows local vendors to stay online and manage their digital storefronts efficiently.

The platform is not just for selling. It integrates digital payment options like e-wallets to move merchants away from cash-only transactions. It also includes built-in tools for tracking inventory, basic accounting and managing orders to help streamline daily operations.

Blums Pineda, senior vice president and head of PLDT Enterprise, emphasized that supporting MSMEs is crucial for nation-building, given that they make up more than 90 percent of businesses in the country.

Pineda said the group is inspired by chairman and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan, who believes that there are no small businessmen, just small businesses. “By providing this platform for growth, we empower our local entrepreneurs to reach more customers and grow sustainably,” Pineda added.

A collaborative effort for local talents

The app represents a combined effort to highlight local craftsmanship and bring digital solutions to traditional markets.

Vic Tria, first vice president and head of enterprise domestic business and SME at PLDT Enterprise and CEO and president of Multisys, expressed pride in the partnership’s role in uplifting local entrepreneurs.
