MANILA, Philippines (Jul 2026) – Preparing for the future just got a digital upgrade as the EastWest PERA program takes center stage to help Pinoy workers build long-term financial security.

During the recent BSP-sponsored PERA@Work Forum, East West Banking Corporation shared its success as the first universal bank in the Philippines to offer a voluntary Personal Equity and Retirement Account program for its workforce.

Making retirement investing simpler

The initiative, which started in April 2026, aims to integrate financial wellness into standard employee benefits. To make the process smoother, the bank teamed up with DragonFi Securities for its internal employee platform.

This setup is not just for bank employees. Retail customers can also access these retirement products through digital investment platforms via partnerships with both DragonFi and Luna Securities.

According to EastWest CEO Jerry G. Ngo, financial empowerment requires more than just access to products. It involves building the knowledge and confidence to plan ahead. He noted that by making the platform accessible, the organization helps employees take control of their financial future.

A platform for financial growth

The bank hopes to encourage other organizations to explore similar programs. The forum gathered more than 300 leaders from the government, banking, and corporate sectors to discuss expanding retirement security nationwide.

Ngo emphasized that the account serves as a practical gateway to investing and broader financial literacy, rather than just a simple savings tool.
