NEW YORK, United States (Jul. 2026) — A woman is finally front and center on the global cover of the world's biggest basketball simulation video game. Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark is making history as the first WNBA player to land a solo global cover for the franchise, headlining the deluxe edition of the upcoming NBA 2K27.

Joining her in the spotlight for the latest iteration are San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama on the standard edition and Chicago Bulls legend Derrick Rose on a limited-time ultra edition.

Three generations of basketball obsession

The latest game aims to celebrate players who have completely shifted how basketball is played. Wembanyama represents the future of dominant big men, Clark continues to redefine shooting range and popularity in the women's game, and Rose reminds fans of explosive point guard play and resilience.

For Clark, the moment is a massive win for representation, noting that she is proud to help women's basketball step onto such a massive global stage. Rose, who previously graced the NBA 2K13 cover, shared that the new edition is a chance to inspire young athletes to stay dedicated to the sport.

When can Pinoys play?

The worldwide release is scheduled for Sept. 4, 2026, across multiple platforms, including the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and the Nintendo Switch 2. However, players who pick up the deluxe or ultra editions can hit the digital hardwood early when early access kicks off on Aug. 28, 2026, at 9 a.m. PDT.

Pre-orders are already live on the official website, with a first look at actual gameplay coming in a worldwide trailer debut on July 28.

Editions, pricing, and digital goodies

Gamers can choose between three distinct versions depending on their budget and how much in-game currency they want:

The Standard Edition costs $69.99 (approx. PHP 4,060) and features Wembanyama on the cover.

The Deluxe Edition goes for $99.99 (approx. PHP 5,800) with Clark on the cover. This version packages 100,000 virtual currency alongside digital bonuses for MyCAREER and MyTEAM modes, including character jerseys and double experience coins.

The Ultra Edition is priced at $149.99 (approx. PHP 8,700) and honors Rose. Available only until Sept. 6, 2026, it adds an extra 35,000 virtual currency, seasonal pro passes extending into 2027, and guaranteed high-rating player cards. Niche fans who played the previous version can score a 10 percent loyalty discount through their digital platform stores until Sept. 3, 2026.
