A Chinese EV maker known for AI-assisted driving is about to shake up the Philippine market, and the price tags it is teasing are turning heads. XPENG confirmed it will officially launch in the Philippines this September through its own local subsidiary, with two flagship models: the L03 AI crossover and the seven-seater X9 MPV. Early indications put the L03 lineup under PHP 2 million, with the X9 hovering around PHP 4.5 million.
XPENG Philippines: no middleman
XPENG is entering the country directly, not through a third-party distributor. XPENG Philippines will serve as the brand’s national sales and marketing organization, overseeing local sales, distribution, and retail operations, and reinforcing its commitment to the country’s green transition.
The brand describes itself as a global AI and technology company pioneering smart EVs, and it has the footprint to back that up: presence in more than 60 countries and regions with over 380 overseas stores, including regional hubs in Germany, the UK, France, Australia, Thailand, and Mexico.
The L03: the Model Y fighter
The L03 is the headliner, and it already made its Southeast Asian debut at the 2026 GIIAS auto show in Indonesia ahead of the Philippine launch. Designed under former Ferrari chief exterior designer JuanMa Lopez, the fastback SUV coupe cuts through the air at a 0.228 drag coefficient and rides on XPENG’s new global architecture.
It comes in fully electric and range-extended versions: up to 520 km on the BEV, and over 1,000 km combined on the range-extended variant. Inside, XPENG’s XOS 6 system runs on three in-house Turing AI chips delivering up to 2,250 TOPS, with a 15.6-inch touchscreen and the NGP VLA 2.0 intelligent driving system.

The X9: the family hauler
For bigger households, the X9 is a seven-seater electric MPV expected to compete with the Denza D9 at around PHP 4.5 million. The current-generation X9 is touted at just over 600 km on its BEV model and 1,600 km combined, and like all XPENG products, it carries AI-driven driver assistance and autonomous driving features.

What is still unknown
Official Philippine pricing, final specifications, and dealership release dates have not been finalized. Both models will be formally introduced at a grand launch event in September 2026, with more details expected closer to the date. The L03’s regional rollout across ASEAN is already underway, with Indonesia serving as XPENG’s right-hand-drive hub.
Why it matters for PH buyers
XPENG lands at a moment when Chinese EVs are rapidly filling local price points, from compact crossovers under a million to the first Filipino-made electric contender. A sub-PHP 2 million AI crossover with over 1,000 km of combined range would give mainstream buyers a genuinely new option, and the direct-subsidiary model means XPENG controls its own service and ownership experience instead of leaving it to a distributor.
