NICOSIA, Cyprus (August 2026) – Epic armored battles are about to get a lot more rewarding as a legendary multiplayer shooter hits a major milestone. World of Tanks is kicking off its 16th anniversary with a month-long celebration packed with gifts, a brand-new event, and the game’s largest update of the year.

Free tanks and premium perks just for logging in

Commanders can already claim a special Anniversary Gift that includes a crew member with three perks, three days of World of Tanks Premium Account, and a commemorative medal. The celebration also introduces Journey, a new event where players explore iconic in-game locations and complete daily missions to earn exclusive rewards, including the brand-new Premium Tier VII Chi-Go tank.

Pinoy gamers who have been away from the battlefield during the summer can score even bigger rewards. Players who haven’t logged in for 60 days or more will receive 30 days of Premium Account, access to premium vehicles, and extra bonuses to help them get back into the action.

The biggest update of the year drops this September

While the party continues throughout August, players can look forward to Update 2.4: Overdrive on Sept. 1. This massive expansion introduces five new Tier XI vehicles, including the Czech Vz. 63P heavy tank, Swedish BV-111 medium tank, Italian CAV 71 medium tank, Chinese WZ-219 light tank, and Japanese Ho-Ri Shugo tank destroyer. Each tank brings fresh mechanics like adaptive autoloaders, alternative firing modes, and rocket-assisted weapons.

A new German heavy tank line will also debut, culminating in the Tier XI Pz.Kpfw. Neu. This line introduces the Shell Calibration System, a unique mechanic that allows players to adjust shell parameters for better precision on the fly.

Better matchmaking and immersive battles

The update will also rebalance more than 30 light tanks into specific roles like Scout, Versatile, and Support. This new role system enables more balanced matchmaking, while an updated map rotation system will reduce repeated maps to keep gameplay fresh. Additionally, upgraded visual and audio effects will make every shot, ricochet, and penetration easier to read in the heat of battle.

You can check out the action in the anniversary teaser video or visit the World of Tanks Asia website to join the fight.

Note: Philippine pricing for specific anniversary bundles was not disclosed in the announcement.
