NICOSIA, Cyprus (Sept. 2026) : Armored warfare is getting a massive volcanic shakeup as rivers of molten lava, a brand-new defender, and massive 40-player battles hit World of Tanks: HEAT in its latest update.

Wargaming has officially launched Season 2: Fire and Ash, bringing fresh combat options and permanent battle pass progression to the free-to-play tactical vehicle shooter. The update introduces an unstable volcanic map in Iceland, a tough frontline Agent named Gambit, and expanded lobby sizes for Pinoy squad commanders looking for maximum combat scale.

Meet Gambit, the frontline wall

Joining the roster this season is Gambit, a Defender-class Agent engineered to hold the line and punish overaggressive opponents. His passive ability, Feedback Loop, applies a stacking debuff to enemy tanks that fire at him, eventually disabling their abilities altogether at close range.

When holding off heavy enemy fire, Gambit can activate his Ultimate ability, Iron Curtain. This deploys defensive drones that grant temporary health boosts and defensive buffs to Gambit and nearby squadmates.

  • Gambit arrives alongside two new tanks earnable for free through the Battle Pass track:
  • M60A3E2: Features Energized Plating to boost armor protection and track durability, alongside Blast Projectors to unleash a charged concussion blast against nearby enemies.
  • T-72SH: Equipped with a Disruption Field Generator to scramble enemy targeting systems and Tesla Discs that deal pulse damage and jam nearby targets.

Meanwhile, Agent Ember gets her second vehicle, the M1150 ABV. Built specifically for close-quarters firefights, this flamethrower tank uses Line Charges and Incendiary Launchers to scorch mid-range opponents.

Navigate molten lava and 40-player battles

Battles move to Inferno One, an alternate-history Icelandic town transformed into an active volcanic warzone. Dynamic lava flows continuously alter safe zones across the map, forcing teams to constantly shift positions as magma encroaches on the field.

For players seeking larger engagements, Season 2 introduces 20v20 Conquest battles during peak weekend hours. This format doubles the standard player count to 40 tanks on a single map, featuring five capture bases and unlimited respawns.

Battle Passes that never expire

The Fire and Ash Battle Pass runs throughout the season, allowing all rewards to be unlocked for free through normal gameplay. Players can also purchase an optional Premium Battle Pass for 1,000 HEAT-Coins to unlock rewards in any order.

Starting with Season 2, the game introduces the Archive system. Unfinished Battle Passes remain active even after a season ends, ensuring players never lose the opportunity to claim past rewards.

Gamers can check out the action in the Season 2 Overview Trailer and the Season 2 Cinematic Trailer. For details and full patch info, visit the World of Tanks: HEAT official website or the Wargaming website.
