QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Sep 2026) : Claiming cash sent from relatives abroad no longer requires a trip to distant bank branches or dedicated payout centers, thanks to a new nationwide partnership making international money transfers available at neighborhood store counters.

Through a collaboration with local financial services provider JuanPay, cross-border remittance giant Western Union is rolling out international money movement services across thousands of community hubs in the Philippines. The initial launch covers roughly 1,400 priority outlets out of JuanPay’s 2,000 owned and franchised locations, targeting provincial areas and tight-knit communities with heavy ties to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

One-stop shop for everyday Pinoy needs

For many families, picking up remittances often involves making separate trips just to handle financial errands. By integrating into JuanPay counters, families can now claim international transfers while paying utility bills, settling government fees, or making loan payments in one go.

JuanPay operates heavily in provincial markets through local entrepreneurs and franchise owners, giving Western Union a wider physical presence across the country alongside its existing digital channels and mobile app.

Bringing financial access closer to home

The move aims to help communities that rely heavily on physical locations or have varied internet access. Executives from both companies emphasized that combining global network reach with neighborhood-level access solves real everyday challenges for Pinoy households.

“Our vision for JuanPay has always been to bring essential financial services closer to Filipino communities,” said Rico Fernando M. Chico, Chairman of ACM Group of Companies. “Our collaboration with Western Union brings together global connectivity and JuanPay’s community-based approach to access”.

Vince Tallent, Senior Vice President and Head of APAC for Western Union, noted that multi-service neighborhood locations play a critical role for people who prefer face-to-face assistance.

“The partnership with JuanPay serves the purpose of being where customers are and creates an exciting distribution model that combines the best of both our strengths,” Tallent said.

Services are expected to expand progressively across the rest of JuanPay’s nationwide network over time.
