PASIG, Philippines (Aug. 2026) – Building a stronger democracy starts with people who are willing to lead with integrity, and Kaya Natin! is being recognized for exactly that work.
The movement for good governance received the 2026 Freedom Flame Award, honoring its efforts to expand its initiatives aimed at training young Pinoy leaders. The organization plans to broaden programs that equip youth with practical skills for civic leadership, promote transparency at all government levels, and encourage informed political participation.
Honoring champions of freedom
Several other organizations were recognized during the ceremony for their contributions to civil society:
- Commission on Human Rights: Honored for defending human rights and upholding the rule of law.
- Angat Buhay: Recognized for its Angat Bayanihan Volunteer Network, which mobilizes civic and disaster response efforts.
- Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats: Cited for advancing liberal democracy across Asia.
- Local Government Unit of Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte: Awarded for setting a benchmark in participatory local governance.
