HONG KONG, China (Aug 2026): Futu Holdings Limited and the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) are bringing the Futu Ladies World Championship presented by Moomoo to Hong Kong, introducing a historic $3.4 million (approx. PHP 197.2 million) prize purse that sets a new record for women’s professional golf in Asia.

Scheduled for March 4 to 7, 2027, at The Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club, the four-day event will serve as the grand finale for the LPGA Tour’s Spring Asia Swing. It marks the first time an official LPGA Tour tournament will take place in Hong Kong. An elite field of 78 top international golfers will compete on the coastal course, with global broadcasts reaching sports fans across more than 130 markets.

Bridging tech, finance, and world-class sports

Under the banner “Future is in Play,” the tournament aims to connect digital finance with elite sports. Futu co-founder Rachel Li explained that golf’s core focus on strategic thinking and sharp judgment matches the platform’s mission to empower investors. She noted that combining sports and finance creates lasting value beyond competition while supporting Hong Kong’s push to position itself as a premier hub for major international events.

A milestone moment for Asian golf

LPGA APAC managing director Chris Madsen highlighted that Hong Kong offers world-class infrastructure and a strong venue ready for top-tier competition. The announcement has also drawn enthusiastic support from regional sports leaders. Golf Association of Hong Kong, China president Kenneth Lam pointed out that bringing top global athletes to the city will inspire young local talent, while Hong Kong LPGA player Tiffany Chan took part in the ceremonial tee-off at Clearwater Bay ahead of her upcoming home appearance.

Golf enthusiasts and sports fans can look forward to seeing the world’s best female golfers compete live in Hong Kong from March 4 to 7, 2027. Additional details regarding spectator tickets and official broadcast coverage will be released closer to the event.
