WWE has trimmed its developmental roster again. Around 10 talents across NXT, EVOLVE and the Performance Center were released on Friday, a list headlined by a former WWE Speed champion and confirmed by reports from Wrestling Inc. WWE itself has not yet issued an official statement.
Who got released
Here is the full roundup of names, as compiled by Khel Now:

| Wendy Choo | Former EVOLVE Women’s champion; the sleepy gimmick that turned darker |
| Ellen Akesson | Powerlifter and armwrestler billed as “Sweden’s strongest woman” |

| PJ Vasa | EVOLVE and WWE LFG talent who confirmed her exit on social media |
| Adriana Rizzo | Longtime D’Angelo Family associate in NXT |
| Braxton Cole | Former football player who worked EVOLVE and LFG |
| Anya Rune | WWE ID signee known for anime-inspired ring moves |
| Marcus Brown | Fitness influencer who never made his in-ring debut |
| Gary Wilson | NXT referee |
The biggest name out
Jasper Troy is the most recognizable departure. He won the first season of WWE LFG as a mentee of Hall of Famer Booker T, then beat El Grande Americano in November 2025 to become WWE Speed champion before dropping the belt in February. He last appeared on WWE television in a June loss to Dion Lennox.
Most of the others never reached NXT television. Ellen Akesson, an elite powerlifter billed as “Sweden’s strongest woman”, signed with the Performance Center in March but was cut before her TV debut, while Marcus Brown left without ever wrestling a match.
Why this round hits the pipeline
Unlike main-roster performers, who usually face a 90-day clause, developmental talent released by WWE get a 30-day non-compete window before they can work elsewhere. That means several of these names could resurface on the independent scene within a month.
Part of a longer 2026 shake-up
This wave follows a long run of 2026 WWE departures that began after WrestleMania 42, when the company cut the Wyatt Sicks, Kairi Sane, Aleister Black, Zelina Vega and Santos Escobar. NXT also lost Andre Chase, Dante Chen and others in earlier rounds of the same reorganisation.
Because these are developmental signings rather than established main-roster acts, the latest cuts read less like a single story-driven move and more like a deliberate tightening of WWE’s talent pipeline. Whether more names follow in the coming weeks remains to be seen.
What Filipino fans should watch
WWE remains the biggest wrestling product Filipino fans follow, and this purge is a reminder of how thin the developmental lane has gotten. Filipino talent continues to break through in the sport, from wrestlers of Filipino heritage breaking into major promotions to the crossover stardom of a figure like Dave Bautista.
