Have you seen the website of Professional Regulatory Commission?
Netizens slammed the government agency as it turned out that the updated PRC website looks like Facebook log-in page.
According to the report of ABS-CBN News, it appears that the web designer for the PRC was too inspired of Facebook’s website.
This can be apparently observed in the new PRC’s Licensure Examination & Registration Information System (LERIS) website, where a huge chunk of Facebook’s sign up page layout, from the placement of the organization’s logo, the input boxes, and even the color scheme.
The green sign up button on the PRC LERIS sign up page has also resemblance with what the social media giant uses on their landing page.
It doesn’t end there; registered users will see that their PRC profile page has some similarities with Facebook profile pages.
The LERIS has been operation for some years but it was only recently that the Facebook-like design of the LERIS v2 was noticed by a tech website, as well by some Twitter users.
Information and Communications Technology Division of the PRC. Its officer-in-charge, Marites Diosanta, stressed in a phone interview that there was no intention to copy the design of Facebook.
She also explained that site was still in its “staging” phase, a technical term in web development wherein the site’s components are still being tested for a number of things, such as security, stability, and user-friendliness.
Additionally, even the LERIS v2 landing page site still looks like the profile page of Facebook.
During the interview, Diosanta said they were able to make changes to the site immediately before the interview, adding that more changes will be made soon.
Upon visiting the website again, the layout is still closely similar to Facebook except for the color wherein the website becomes dominantly orange with an additional video in a continuous loop.
