Joyce Penas Pilarsky to Showcase Philippine Textile in London

MANILA, Philippines – From war trophy to goodwill symbol, the inspiration of Joyce Penas Pilarsky’s collection is the victory of the return of the Balangiga Bells to the Philippines. The bells were taken by the Americans as war booty from the town of Balangiga in the province of Eastern Samar during the Philippine-American War of 1901.

Her choice of Filipino materials, appliques, and embroidered fabrics to create this stunning ensemble will slay the competition.

Joyce Penas Pilarsky will reveal her new collection in this year’s Britain’s Top Designer in London, U.K., on February 16, 2019. It is an extremely prestigious designer competition, which takes place during London Fashion Week and is the first of its kind.

Joyce is one of the finalists and will be competing against eight exemplary fashion designers from different parts around the world. They will be judged by top industry personalities such as head judge Bernard Connolly – celebrity stylist, Nicky Johnston celebrity photographer & judge on Britain’s Next Top Model, Lola Royal – Stylist & fashion presenter and Nicky Hambleton-Jones Stylist, consultant, TV Presenter.

From Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray’s Filipino cultures & textile-inspired gowns and outfits to this new collection by the Award Winning International Fashion and Jewelry Designer Joyce Penas Pilarsky. Surely, Another Filipina pride will take on the international runway spotlight.
