No power outage in NAIA: Meralco issues official statement on air traffic controller issues that stalled PH flights


PHILIPPINES – Meralco has issued the following statement on the situation at NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport) which has disrupted flight operations in and out of the country:

We are closely coordinating with NAIA management regarding the situation. Upon initial analysis, there were no trouble or issues affecting Meralco distribution facilities and no power outage or fluctuation was likewise monitored or reported as far as Meralco’s power lines and facilities are concerned. According to news reports based on MIAA statement, there were “technical issues at the Air Navigation Facilities of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP)” which affected domestic and international flights.

Meralco is currently onsite and ready to provide assistance if needed by airport authorities.
