The seventh installment of the Fast and Furious series continued where Tokyo Drift left off. Dominic Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, together with the rest of the team flies back to the US to live as regular citizens. However, chaos begins after Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) swears revenge against Dominic to avenge his brother, Owen, who went into comatose after a plane crash back in Fast & Furious 6.

The seventh installment of the Fast & Furious film also marks the final appearance of Paul Walker. Paul played the role of Brian O’ Connor, a former LAPD officer and Dominic’s best friend. The movie was in the middle of production when he passed away in a car accident last November 2013. The production team asked the help of Paul’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, to act as stand-ins during Paul’s scenes. With their cooperation and some CGI magic to recreate his face and his voice, they were able to bring Paul back into the screen. I’m still amazed at how well they did it because it really felt like Paul was still alive during those scenes.

As with its previous movie installments, the death-defying stunts, the action-packed brawls and the mind-blowing drifts are at par. Added to that is the multiracial casts and the picturesque views of their locations in Tokyo, Abu Dhabi, Atlanta, Georgia and in Caucasus Mountains that balances and makes us all in awe in every scene, thanks to the computer-generated imagery that makes every scene action scene worth watching.

I have to say that the final scenes of the movie is the most touching of all, where Dominic reminisce the good times that he had with Brian and bid each other farewell. Scenes from the previous installments were shown as flashbacks. It truly is a fitting tribute to Paul Walker, whom Vin Diesel considers as his brother both on-screen and off-screen.
