The president of one of Manny Villar’s retail chains is out barely 11 months into the job, and on the same day an independent director walked away from two Villar-controlled firms at once. The exits landed as the group’s retail arm keeps trimming its footprint and its listed retailers sit suspended over overdue financial reports.
Who stepped down
AllHome Corp. president and chief operating officer Maribel Sibayan resigned effective Sept. 2, 2026, citing personal reasons. She had taken the top job on Sept. 24, 2025, replacing acting president Frances Rosalie Coloma, so her tenure ran under a year.
The same day, Susana So stepped down as independent director of both AllHome and sister supermarket chain AllDay Marts, also for personal reasons. Neither firm named immediate replacements, saying successors would be announced in due course.
| Name | Role left | Company | Effective |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maribel Sibayan | President and COO, director | AllHome | Sept. 2, 2026 |
| Susana So | Independent director | AllHome and AllDay Marts | Sept. 2, 2026 |
On the AllDay side, the group brought in Louella Fernandez, a finance veteran of Vista Land and a former controller and compliance officer at AllHome, to serve the unexpired term of Maria Charissa U. Josef.
What is driving the churn
The leadership exits land against a wider Villar retail reset. AllHome has been closing underperforming branches and shrinking its store network to cut costs amid sluggish consumer demand, while the property flagship Vista Land and its Villar City projects face balance-sheet pressure.
Both AllHome and AllDay Marts have had their shares suspended from trading while investors await their overdue financial statements for 2026, according to InsiderPH. Sibayan herself was a retail lifer before AllHome, with stints at SM Mart, MerryMart, Rustan Supercenters and AllDay.
Quick facts at a glance
- Owner: Manny Villar’s Villar Group, which also runs property brands including Camella
- AllHome: home improvement and hardware chain
- AllDay Marts: supermarket and grocery arm
- Shared trigger cited: personal reasons in both resignations
- Status: successors not yet named as of Sept. 4, 2026
For shoppers and investors watching Villar’s retail empire, the takeaway is less about who holds the title today and more about the direction: a leaner network, frozen listings and fresh leadership questions across the group’s consumer businesses.
