Be Bold. Be Free. Be You: Nippon Paint Launches Asia Young Designer Award 2016

Calling all Architecture and Interior Design students out there. This is your chance to showcase your skills and talent and at the same time be mentored by leaders in design industry. Join Nippon Paint’s Asia Young Designer Award 2016.

It was first launched in Malaysia in 2008 as Nippon Paint Young Designer Award, aiming to inspire interior design and architecture students to apply creativity and innovation in design implementation. In 2015, it expanded to 11 more countries including the Philippines, Singapore, Bangladesh, Thailand, Pakistan, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, China, Japan, and Hong Kong. This year, Nippon made the competition even bigger, by including 3 more Asian countries Sri Lanka, India and Taiwan, and re-launched  it as “Asia Young Designer Award.”

Last July 21 at the Conservatory in Manila Peninsula, Nippon hosted a press con for  Asia Young Designer Award 2016. Nippon Paint Young Designer Award 2015 winners Jose Agustin Ricarte (Architecture) and Martha Joyce Tomas (Interior Design), along with their mentors were present during the event and shared their experiences during the competition and how it has inspired them and gave them a strong head start in their respective careers.

This year’s Asia Young Designer Award theme is Be Bold. Be Free. Be You.

Be Bold:  Take on challenges and concepts that are  out of the ordinary, break out from conventional ways.

Be Free : There is nothing for you to  lose, think beyond conservativeness and deliver ideas without boundaries

Be You : AYDA is a platform that rewards expressions of individuality. Unleash your creativity and let us nurture it together.

Participants are encouraged to create a design that has  something unique to offer design professionals, commercial buyers  and the community alike.
