MANILA, Philippines – Earlier this evening, a special benefit dinner was held at Robinsons Magnolia Garden. Appetizers, cocktails, music and celebrity appearances were enjoyed by guests and recipients. The event was hosted by socialites Tim Yap and Tessa Prieto-Valdes. Dinner for human buffet was by Cibo and delectable pet buffet by Bow & Wow and ALL4PETSParty. White wines for pet parents was overflowing throughout the night courtesy by Planet Grapes.
Games and other fun activities, where both humans and pets joined, such as raffle, massage station, caricature station, pawprint keepsakes and design-your-own cupcake activity.
Some pets and pet parents came in their best matching outfits, adding fun to the event. Pets and pet parents also won special awards liked “strike-a-paws” and more.
The night was even made livelier with the special performances by Jona Viray and the Pole Cats Manila.
Tickets were purchased for P3,000 with pet and P2,000 without pet. All of the proceeds from the event went to CARA to help pay for the medical care, food, and shelter for dogs and cats under its care. They were able to raised P250,000.
CARA also gave insights into the workings of rescuing abused or abandoned animals and the volunteer work being done on a regular basis. Run by animal-loving volunteers who help place unwanted, abandoned and rescued pets into responsible homes, CARA strongly advocates the rescue and protection of abandoned and abused dogs using a humane approach.
CARA is the country’s key non-profit organization involved in animal welfare activities, including saving, relocating and rehabilitating over a hundred Pitbulls rescued from a dog fighting ring run by Korean nationals in Laguna. Among its projects include spaying and neutering cats and dogs and putting them up for adoption if their owners are not found.
