MANILA, Philippines (Apr 2026) — BYD is bringing its most performance-focused electric SUV to the Philippines, and Pinoys will get their first look at it starting April 9 at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show, according a post by Autoindustriya.
The BYD Sealion 7 is an all-electric midsize crossover SUV distributed locally by ACMobility. Based on specifications released by the Department of Energy, the Philippine-market Sealion 7 comes with dual electric motors producing a combined 530PS and 690Nm of torque, sending power to all four wheels. That output puts it in direct competition with the Tesla Model Y in the performance EV SUV space.
Range is rated at up to 456km on the WLTP cycle from an 82.56kWh battery, which covers most intercity trips on a single charge without anxiety.
Dimensionally, the Sealion 7 measures 4,830mm long, 1,925mm wide, and 1,620mm tall, making it slightly larger than the Sealion 6 DM-i already on sale locally. The design borrows from two existing BYD models: the front fascia carries over the look of the Sealion 6, while the rear and side profiles take cues from the Seal EV, resulting in a sportier, more aerodynamic silhouette.
Pricing has not yet been announced. The Sealion 7 will be on display at MIAS 2026 at the World Trade Center Manila starting April 9.
