Congrats to the 2023 MMFF Winners

The 49th edition of the Metro Manila Film Festival was recently held at the New Frontier Theater and recognized the incredible works of the 10 finalists of this year’s Yuletide film festival.

Touted as one of the most anticipated event of the year end after a battle with the Covid 19 pandemic for the past two years, the MMFF encouraged the movie going public to enjoy watching these carefully selected entries to the cinemas with families and friends just like how it should be every Christmas Season.

The Star for All Seasons and When I Met You In Tokyo lead, Ms Vilma Santos won Best Actress while first time awardee Cedrick Juan bags Best Actor for his powerful portrayal of a doomed martyr priest in Gomburza.

The Best Picture ranking is one of the exciting and nerve-wracking portion of the Awards Night. Kudos to MALLARI, GOMBURZA and FIREFLY for making it. A (first time) fourth Best Picture was given to JG Pictures’ When I Met You in Tokyo.

FIREFLY, directed by award winning director Zig Dulay took home Best Picture. Produced by GMA Public Affairs and GMA Pictures, among others.
2nd Best Picture Gomburza
3rd Best Picture Mallari

Organizer Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is now gearing up for the film festival’s golden year this 2024. And is pleased that moviegoers have indeed comeback to the cinemas to watch and support the 10 Pinoy films each with various genres and remarkable stories to tell.
