Genesis has revealed its biggest vehicle ever. The GV90, the luxury brand’s flagship electric SUV, made its world debut in production form, landing squarely in Rolls-Royce Cullinan territory with a setup that pairs a 123.5 kWh battery with a choice of coach doors on the range-topping trim. Filipino availability has not been announced.

The flagship battery and power

The GV90 rides on a brand-new flagship eMP platform, and the 123.5 kWh pack is the largest ever fitted to a Hyundai-group EV. Dual-motor all-wheel drive delivers in the region of 657 hp in its most powerful form, with a single-charge range of about 500 km in the seven-seat layout on manufacturer internal testing, and a 10-to-80 percent top-up in roughly 22 minutes on a 350 kW charger.

Spec Genesis GV90
Battery 123.5 kWh (largest Hyundai-group EV)
Powertrain Dual-motor AWD, ~657 hp
Range (7-seat) ~500 km (manufacturer test)
Charging 10-80% in ~22 min
Wheelbase 3,245 mm
Length 5,285 mm

The coach doors everyone is talking about

The headline feature sits on the GV90 Neolun: B-pillar-less, rear-hinged coach doors that open a wide, pillar-free entry to the cabin, held together by concealed roll-cage beams. The regular GV90 keeps conventional doors, while the Neolun’s interior goes further with a four-seat executive suite, a real-wood floor, a fridge and front seats that swivel. It rides on 24-inch wheels and is roughly the size of a Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

Inside the bespoke cabin

Genesis loaded the GV90 with a 23.6-to-24.6-inch expandable OLED display, a 25-inch head-up display that replaces the instrument cluster, a 25-speaker Bang and Olufsen audio system, and seats with multiple air cells and pulse massage. It is also fitted with 12 airbags including a world-first roof airbag, aimed at a pillarless door design.

Timing and Philippines

The global reveal landed Aug 20, with sales starting in Korea in September 2026 and Europe in the first half of 2027. For the Philippines there is no announced availability or price yet, and pricing anyway is still unconfirmed even in the US. It is a halo flagship for now, the vehicle Genesis is using to take aim at brands like BMW and Bentley.

Positioning

The GV90 enters a fast-moving luxury-EV field alongside the all-electric shift reshaping the wider Hyundai lineup, with rivals like the high-range SUVs and flagship EVs pricing ever further upmarket. For Genesis, the bet is that luxury buyers will pay a premium for a big, coach-door EV that feels less like a consumer appliance and more like a statement.
