Genshin Impact’s first Genius Invokation TCG Asia Invitational set for January 2024

SINGAPORE – The world of Teyvat is set to host its very first competitive event in the form of the Genius Invokation TCG Asia Invitational, announced by global interactive entertainment brand HoYoverse. This landmark event in the history of the popular free-to-play RPG Genshin Impact will see the top 16 players from across Asia competing for glory and a grand prize of approximately 34,900 USD.

Scheduled from January 11 to 21, 2024, in Shanghai, this tournament promises to be a thrilling display of strategy and skill. Fans of the game can tune in to the live broadcast of the event on platforms including @AstraCarnival on X, YouTube, and Twitch, as well as @GenshinImpactOfficial on Twitch.

The Genius Invokation TCG, introduced in December 2022 as a new gameplay mode in Genshin Impact, blends the game’s unique element-based combat system with the strategic depth of card gaming. This tournament, a culmination of the Dynamic Cup in China and three Asian regional tournaments, will unfold in two phases: the group stage and the knockout stage, both featuring a double-elimination format.

The event kicks off with the group stage from January 11 to 14, where the players will be divided into four groups. The top players will then advance to the knockout stage from January 19 to 21, culminating in an intense best-of-seven match to crown the champion on the final day.

In addition to the competition, Genshin Impact continues to evolve, offering new cards, NPCs, and duel modes in its latest 4.3 version, following the massive Fontaine expansion. This provides both fans and players an opportunity to engage with the game’s expanding universe.
