MANILA, Philippines (Jun 2026) — Shopping for clothes online has always had one frustrating blind spot: you never really know how something will look on you until it arrives at your door. Google is about to fix that for Pinoy shoppers.
Google is rolling out its AI-powered Try On feature to the Philippines in the coming weeks, bringing a virtual fitting room experience directly into Search, Google Shopping, and Google Images. Instead of guessing how a top or a dress would look based on a stock photo, users can upload a full-length photo of themselves and see the actual item on their own body within seconds.
How it works
The feature runs on a custom image generation model built specifically for fashion. It’s designed to understand how different fabrics behave on different body types — how a linen shirt drapes, how a stretchy dress fits, how materials fold and move. When you upload your photo, that intelligence gets applied to your actual proportions, not just a generic mannequin.
Coverage goes beyond tops and dresses. Try On also works for bottoms and footwear, including sneakers, heels, and sandals — useful for anyone trying to put together a complete outfit before buying.
How to use it
To get started, tap on any apparel product listing on Google Search or Google Images. Look for the “try it on” icon, upload a full-length photo, and the result appears almost instantly. Users can try on as many items as they want, experimenting with different colors, cuts, and styles.
Looks can be saved and shared with friends for a second opinion. When a shopper is ready to buy, tapping the shop button redirects directly to the retailer’s website.
The feature pulls from the billions of products in Google’s Shopping Graph, meaning availability is broad across a huge range of brands and price points.
Try On is set to begin rolling out in the Philippines in the coming weeks. No app download is required — it works within Google Search and Google Images.
