A teaser of the HONOR Magic Pro 9 Max has surfaced, and the camera module is wearing the badge of a legendary cinema camera maker: ARRI. The close-up, shared on the r/Honor subreddit, reveals a 200MP 1/1.4-inch sensor with OIS, an f/2.6 aspherical lens, and ARRI branding engraved directly on the lens ring.
ARRI collaboration comes into focus
The teaser lines up with earlier reports that the Magic 9 Pro Max would bring dual 200MP cameras, and with Huawei Central’s tip that a small HONOR flagship would get ARRI-based camera features. HONOR already has an official strategic technical partnership with ARRI to bring cinema-grade camera technology to smartphones, so the branding on this teaser is a natural next step.
The engraved spec sheet reads 200MP 1/1.4 OIS 1:2.6 ASPH, which points to a large 1/1.4-inch sensor, optical image stabilization, a fast f/2.6 aperture, and an aspherical lens element. For comparison, the Magic 9 series is also expected to get upgraded batteries and a refreshed design.
What we know about the Magic 9 series so far
Leaks have painted the Magic 9 family as HONOR’s big AI-era refresh, following the company’s rebrand around a new ring logo. A dual-200MP camera setup would put the Pro Max in rarefied company, competing directly with camera-focused flagships like the Vivo X300 Ultra.
HONOR has not confirmed the teaser or given a launch date. As with any leak, treat the specs as rumor until the company makes it official, but the ARRI branding on a production-looking module is the strongest signal yet that cinema-grade imaging is coming to the Magic line.
