PAMPANGA, Philippines (Aug 2026) — Carrying a bulky folding phone with mediocre battery life might soon be a thing of the past for Pinoy tech enthusiasts looking for true desktop power in their pockets. The newly launched HONOR Magic V6 foldable smartphone combines a slim profile with a giant battery and durability features designed to handle daily wear and tear.
Measuring just 8.75 mm when folded and 4.0 mm when unfolded, the device weighs around 219 grams, giving it an in-hand feel closer to a standard smartphone.
Slab-thin design with heavy-duty protection
Foldable devices often spark worry over fragility, but this model uses a specialized hinge with high tensile strength alongside a bionic cushioning system to absorb impact during drops. The outer display comes protected by a silicon nitride coating designed to resist scratches, while the inner screen utilizes flexible glass to reduce visible creasing. It also features IP68 and IP69 ratings against dust, water, and high-pressure water sprays.
Both screens support adaptive 1 to 120 Hz refresh rates, reaching peak brightness levels of up to 6,000 nits on the outer display and 5,000 nits on the inner screen. Both panels incorporate eye-comfort technologies, including high-frequency dimming to keep eye strain at bay during long reading or gaming sessions.
Big battery power and top-tier speed
At the heart of the device is a massive 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery, making it the largest power pack built into a foldable smartphone to date. The phone supports 80W wired charging, 66W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging capabilities.
Under the hood, it runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor built on a 3nm process, paired with high-speed memory and storage. This hardware combination allows demanding mobile games to run smoothly at up to 120 frames per second on the large main screen.
Cameras, AI features, and cross-device connections
For photography and video, the rear setup features a 50MP main camera, a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with optical image stabilization, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. Built-in software features assist with real-time color grading and photo optimization.
Running on MagicOS 10, the operating system includes multitasking shortcuts like Fast Flex for split-screen mode and Multi-Flex for running three active applications at once. It also integrates Google Gemini tools, offering AI features alongside a three-month trial of Google AI Pro. Pinoy users heavily tied into multiple tech ecosystems can transfer files and share notifications across Mac, iPhone, and Apple Watch hardware.
