MANILA, Philippines – James Reid, Nadine Lustre, and Dominic Roque quickly got TV viewers hooked as the pilot episode of their “Wansapanataym” special “My App Boyfie” won national TV ratings last Saturday (September 27).
According to data from Kantar Media, the first episode of “My App Boyfie” scored a national TV rating of 29.5%, or almost 13 points higher compared to its rival program in GMA “Marian” (16.6%).
Aside from the national TV ratings, James, Nadine, and Dominic’s “Wansapanataym” special also conquered social networking sites such as Twitter, where the hashtag “My App Boyfie Pilot Episode,” became a worldwide trending topic because of the positive tweets by netizens who were all excited for the premiere of the unique love story.
Meanwhile, in the continuation of “Wansapanataym Presents My App Boyfie” this weekend (October 4 and 5), Anika’s (Nadine) life begins to change now that she is finally going to experience what it’s like to have boyfriend through Jowa (James). What will Anika do when she falls in love with her “app boyfriend?” Will she be forced to delete him once Jowa brings trouble to her and her family?
Also featured in “Wansapanataym Presents My App Boyfie” are Cherie Gil, Malou Crisologo, Ingrid dela Paz, Jazz McDonald, Marco Pingol, and Elise Joson. It is written by Noreen Capili and directed by Jojo Saguin.
The original story book for Filipino kids “Wansapanataym” is under the production of Dreamscape Entertainment Television, the group that created top-rating TV masterpieces such as “Walang Hanggan,” “Ina Kapatid Anak,” and “Juan dela Cruz.”
