MANILA, Philippines (Sep 2026) – Parents sending their teenagers off to school or after-class hangouts can now breathe a little easier, as Grab for Family allows young Pinoy commuters to book rides on their own while keeping their families updated in real time.
Designed for teens aged 13 to 17, the new feature gives young passengers room to build independence while equipping parents with safety controls throughout every trip. As shared mobility becomes a regular part of daily commutes for many Pinoy households, the tool aims to balance growing freedom with peace of mind.
Keeping track of every trip
The setup equips families with several built-in safety tools during every ride. Parents can use Live Ride Tracking and Trip Monitoring to follow their teen’s journey as it happens.
To ensure passengers get into the correct vehicle, the feature requires Ride PIN verification before a trip starts.
Direct communication and recording
Staying in touch during a commute is also straightforward. A 3-Way Chat function lets parents, teens, and drivers communicate in one shared thread.
Additionally, the feature includes AudioProtect, an added security measure that records audio during the journey to help deter safety incidents and resolve disputes if any arise.
