May was a month of wonders in the music industry when Jed Madela released his latest album entitled Iconic, an album that was launched without any press conference prior to its release.
After months of making this album, Jed finally released this album which totally showcases the range and capability of his voice. Singing songs from female music icons, Jed was able to own it and give new vocal interpretation to such known songs. Songs from iconic singers such as Madonna (Like A Prayer), Gloria Estefan (Don’t Wanna Lose You Now), Christina Aguilera (Beautiful) and Whitney Houston (Didn’t We Almost Have It All) are featured in this album.
During the well attended press launch, about a week after the album release, Jed Madela performed some of his songs from this album. His performance was so intense that everybody was simply blown away by his rendition and ownership of these iconic songs, thus the title of the album: ICONIC. Along with him that day was 5thGen, a new group that is composed of winners from the World Championships of Performing Arts competition, performing the song That’s the Way It Is (sung by Celine Dion). Collaborating also with him in this album is Ms. Regine Velasquez-Alcasid in the song Somewhere Over The Rainbow (sung by Judy Garland in Wizard of Oz)
