Mark John Lexer Galedo: Top Winner for the 7-Eleven Tour 2019


7-Eleven Tour is back after seven years with 3,000 participants joining the cycling event .Known as one of the largest bike events of the year, 7-Eleven Tour 2019, took place last April 7. The event saw professional and recreational cyclists bike from Clark Global City passing through Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), then to Subic and back. 

7-Eleven Tour 2019 drew cyclists of all ages, from those as young as 16 years old to cyclists as old as 51 years old. Participants raced on 48KM and 106KM respectively, each route posed different challenges depending on the skill level of the participant. And though the trail was quite difficult at times, participants of the 7-Eleven Tour 2019 enjoyed scenic routes in Central Luzon as they passed through via the SCTEX. The 48KM category’s turn-around point was in Floridablanca in Pampanga while the 106KM category’s turn-around point was in Tipo in Zambales.

 

Mark John Lexer Galedo was named the overall winner of the 7-Eleven Tour 2019. He finished with a time of 2:29.48, taking home ₱20,000 in cash prize. Meanwhile, Michael Jan Farre , a 21 lad from Zambales ;clinched the second and Rench Michael Bondoc, 16 yrs old got the  third spots, clocking in at 2:29.53 and 2.29.53, respectively. Aside from the overall winners, male and female winners were also named from the different age groups.

More than the price, it’s the incredible experience that made this cyclist , joined the event.

We believe that events such as the 7-Eleven Tour 2019 contribute greatly to the training of professional cyclists and the discovery of young and up and coming athletes that can hopefully bring greater pride to our country. Aside from this, the event is the perfect opportunity for recreational cyclists to have an enjoyable ride while taking in the sights of Central Luzon.”

7-Eleven Tour makes a comeback after a seven-year hiatus from its successful debut Tour 700: Bayani ng Barangay.
