Pinoy Netizens disappointed posts flooded social media this weekend as two big competitions held this Saturday resulted into “cooking show” or in Filipino idiom, called “Luto” as they claimed.
2015 UAAP CHEERDANCE COMPETITION
Early Saturday, University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Cheerdance Competition heated up the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Eight competing universities showcased their incredible stunts, pyramids, tosses and relevant themes to outperform each other and bag this year’s championship trophy and recognition.
The eight time champions UST Salingawi dance troupe and University of the Philippines Pep Squad were hailed first and second runners-up.
Surprisingly, National University Pep Squad defended their championship and bagged the three peat recognition which made this year’s results controversial. Netizens expressed their dismay in the results as they believe that it could be UP or UST who shall win the title.
“When the results was announced. Me: tang***”
“@ABSCBNNewsSport @jellybeyn saan po yung envelope na may cash for the judges? Na-spot nyo na ba?”
Here’s the scoresheet of the competition. Some were complaining that why UP was awarded the best toss if NU has a higher toss score in the tally sheet? Others were also speculating that the results might be manipulated because the event’s venue SM MOA Arena and NU are both owned by business tycoon Henry Sy.
