YouTuber Reckless Ben, who has built a 2.29 million-subscriber audience by confronting alleged fraudsters and cult leaders on camera, posted a 2026-08-27 documentary in which he posed as a DoorDash driver carrying a burrito order to reach Ideal Living CEO Peter Spiegel at the company’s Los Angeles-area office. In the footage, he asks Spiegel’s staff for comment on allegations that Ideal Living funded the alleged abuse operations of the religious organization Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat (JKP). Security ordered him off the property and held up a wanted-style poster with his face; staff at a separate JKP meetinghouse later told him to leave as well.
What the Reckless Ben video alleges
The Reckless Ben video draws on a former senior Ideal Living brand manager named Myra, who says she worked at the wellness company for 15 years. According to Myra, Ideal Living existed in significant part to channel funds to JKP, a religious organization whose leader has publicly identified himself as the fifth Jagadguru of the world. A woman who says she spent 14 years inside JKP told Ben that underage girls were taken to the leader and raped, and that former members believe the abuse reached thousands of victims.
Former members also told Ben that a guru inside the group was convicted on 20 counts of child molestation and sentenced to 280 years in prison, but never appeared at his sentencing. Myra alleged that Ideal Living executives helped him escape to Mexico the night before the verdict. U.S. Marshals have described the disappearance as one of the most complex escapes they had seen, and the man remains on Interpol’s public Red Notice list. Reckless Ben confirmed with the Reckless Ben documentary team that Ideal Living has not commented on the video as of the 48-hour deadline he set before going wide on YouTube.

The DoorDash tactic, in context
The choice to walk into the Ideal Living office as a DoorDash driver was deliberate. Reckless Ben told staff he was a documentary maker who wanted Spiegel’s side of the allegations; they told him to leave. At the JKP meetinghouse Myra said the group kept renaming on maps, an inside contact’s footage placed Spiegel on the premises, and staff eventually asked Ben to leave as well. The footage, which includes audio of staff refusing on-camera comment, aired after a 48-hour countdown Ben set on Patreon; Spiegel did not respond before the deadline, and the full cut went live on YouTube. The video’s first installment has been viewed more than 15.8 million times on YouTube, and a follow-up documentary on the same subject has cleared 7.5 million views.
Why the Reckless Ben video matters beyond YouTube
Two pieces of context frame the Reckless Ben documentary and are why the story is breaking out of YouTube. First, Myra says journalists at Newsweek and the Los Angeles Times had cleared a multi-part investigation before reporters stopped responding; a veteran journalist on background told Ben to be “extremely careful” and declined to discuss why coverage stopped. Second, an anonymous man whose face is blurred in the video says he and Myra drove to an investigative reporting conference near Disneyland, walked in without a badge, and told roughly 350 journalists they had found a child sex cult that insiders said their outlets had killed. He says Ideal Living then sued him for extortion, intimidation, and unfair business practices, listing David Najar on the docket. He and Myra refused a settlement offer from a Harvard-trained arbitrator and lost the suit; he says the suit wrecked his credit and repossessed his car.
Independent accounts of alleged abuse inside JKP long predate the Reckless Ben upload. A 17-year-old who grew up in the group told blogger Karen Jonson in 2023 that she experienced sexual harassment and mental abuse there, and former members told Ben the abuse reached thousands of victims. Reckless Ben’s full documentary, including a longer interview with Myra and additional documents, is hosted on his Patreon.
What is not yet known
Spiegel himself is named as an acc in the Reckless Ben documentary but has not been charged. The JKP figure convicted on 20 counts has not been captured; U.S. Marshals and Interpol describe him as still at large, with U.S. Marshals calling the Mexico escape one of the most complex they had seen. A Reckless Ben source claiming Newsweek and the Los Angeles Times killed the story is contradicted by the reporters themselves, who have not on the record said so. Ideal Living has not returned requests for comment on the documentary. Reckless Ben’s YouTube channel and Patreon continue to publish follow-up material on the alleged abuses inside JKP and Ideal Living’s alleged role in funding them.
