MANILA, Philippines (Aug 2026) – Every day, millions of Pinoy families rely on the neighborhood carinderia for affordable, home-cooked meals. Yet for the micro-entrepreneurs behind these eateries, staying in business means wrestling with rising fuel costs and workplace safety hazards. To tackle these everyday struggles, LPG brand Solane has partnered with the Philippine Association of Sari-Sari Store and Carinderia Owners (PASCO) to launch Sagip Karinderia, a nationwide program focused on helping small food business owners protect their bottom line and secure their kitchens.
Keeping flames safe and costs low
Running a small eatery in the Philippines requires constant vigilance over fuel consumption and practical safety. Through the Sagip Karinderia initiative, Solane and PASCO provide targeted training on kitchen safety, LPG emergency response, and energy-efficient LPG usage. These modules target the exact operational challenges carinderia operators face daily, helping them minimize gas waste while preventing potential fire hazards.
Empowering local food entrepreneurs
The nationwide partnership brings together industry expertise and community grassroots reach. Representatives from both organizations recently gathered to champion the cause, including PASCO Executive Director Lorelyn D. Tamares, PASCO Corporate Secretary and Managing Director Salie Siao, and PASCO Secretariat Jacob Faith Jayme. Solane was represented by Brand Manager Jeanne Empaynado, Trade and Excellence Manager Katherine Mendez-Cabisada, Trade Marketing Manager Myra Recreo, and Marketing Specialist Virgilio Ogayon.
By equipping micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with proper safety protocols and cost-saving habits, the program aims to build longer-lasting, resilient livelihoods for Pinoy food sellers across the country.
Note: Specific program schedules and registration details for carinderia owners were not provided in the initial release.
