MANILA, Philippines (July 7, 2026) — Super Typhoon Bavi is tracking westward toward the Philippines and may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility as early as Tuesday evening, according to PAGASA.
Weather officials say the system has reached violent typhoon strength in the Pacific and is expected to trigger wind signals and heavy rains in parts of the country later this week.
What to expect
BusinessWorld Online reports PAGASA says Wind Signal No. 3 could be hoisted in some areas once Bavi moves into PAR. The Inquirer similarly warns of wind signals and heavy rainfall, while WWLTV notes the storm is intensifying as it approaches the Philippines’ eastern seaboard.
Monitor updates
As of 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, PAGASA is monitoring Bavi outside PAR. Residents in coastal and low-lying areas should watch for official bulletins and begin emergency preparations.
