MANILA, Philippines (Apr 2025) — TCL Electronics has secured the top spot in global TV shipments across three major categories, solidifying its position as a key player in the premium television space.
According to market research firm Omdia, TCL ranked No. 1 in global shipments of 85-inch and larger TVs last year, capturing 22.1% of the market. The company also led in Mini LED TV shipments with a 28.8% market share and maintained its lead in Google TV shipments from 2021 to 2024.
The findings reflect a growing demand for large-screen and high-quality TVs, especially as consumers spend more time at home. Omdia forecasts that global shipments of TVs 80 inches and larger will climb by 35% in 2025, representing 7% of the total display market. That figure is expected to reach 11% by 2030. Mini LED TVs are also on the rise, with projected shipments hitting 9.3 million units in 2025.
TCL has been at the forefront of the trend. In 2019, the company introduced the world’s first Mini LED TV and became the first to mass-produce the technology. Since then, TCL has continuously refined its proprietary display technologies, offering products with ultra-high brightness, contrast, color gamut, and longevity.
The brand’s focus on immersive viewing has pushed it to expand its lineup of ultra-large TVs powered by Mini LED. TCL’s consistent innovation in display performance is helping redefine how viewers experience home entertainment.
Collaborations with partners like Google have also contributed to TCL’s momentum. The integration of Google TV into TCL displays is part of a strategy to offer smarter and healthier digital lifestyles to households around the world.
TCL’s global rise highlights not just its manufacturing scale, but also its strategic commitment to innovation and partnership. For Filipino consumers, it means more advanced, high-quality viewing options are becoming accessible.
