MANILA, Philippines (August 2026) — Securing employment right after graduation can feel incredibly tough, but global tech services leader VFS Global is actively stepping in to change that for young jobseekers. In its latest global report, the company revealed that 49 Pinoy candidates were successfully hired on the spot during recent local career fairs.

The immediate hiring push was part of the RISE Youth Employability Programme, an initiative launched alongside Makesense Asia to bridge the gap between school outcomes and job market demands. The program provided essential employability and life-skills training to more than 640 underserved youth, connecting over 500 jobseekers directly with employers through the Public Employment Service Office.

More than just community spending

This local initiative comes as the parent organization scales up its social and environmental investments on a global scale. According to its seventh Sustainability Report tracking 2025 performance, the firm nearly doubled its corporate social responsibility investments with a 94 percent increase.

The tech enterprise also cut its total greenhouse gas emissions by 13 percent compared to its 2024 baseline. It successfully shifted 80 percent of its electricity consumption to green energy through renewable energy certificates, recorded a 41 percent surge in electronic waste recycling, and planted 650,000 trees.

Deploying responsible artificial intelligence

On the commercial side, the company expanded its portfolio by integrating six artificial intelligence solutions now utilized by more than 20 client governments worldwide. These applications operate under a strict enterprise governance framework to ensure human oversight and data privacy, an achievement that earned the organization the Dubai AI Seal.

Company leadership noted that these milestones prove that high corporate performance and deep social impact can coexist. Zubin Karkaria, founder and chief executive officer of VFS Global, stated that 2025 was a landmark year where sustainability goals actively drove global growth and created significant value. Karkaria highlighted that women made up 65 percent of new hires, reinforcing the organization’s focus on environment and women empowerment.

Shireen Mistree, head of sustainability at VFS Global, added that the company’s recent materiality assessment helps the firm manage its environmental impact while strengthening its long-term resilience against regulatory shifts.
